In this tutorial we will add Moving Averages to our chart.

  1. Check out the following examples of how the end users can edit Moving Averages in your chart (in real time), using the Trend Lines and Forecast Wizard.

  2. We will now create a chart with Moving Averages.
  3. Launch Aioob Flash Chart Maker
  4. Select Create a New Chart

  5. From the Create a New Chart select the Column button.

  6. You will now see your chart in the workspace layout:

  7. The workspace layout is divided into two sections (a properties section and a preview section):

  8. If you look at your chart in the preview section, you will see that we have two series in our Bar Graph (Series Red and Series Blue). We will now add Moving Averages to the Series Blue Bar Graph.
  9. From the properties section select the Trend Lines and Forecast tab.
  10. In the Trend Lines and Forecast select Series Blue from the Series drop-down box.

  11. Now press the Add button to add a trend line to Series Blue.
  12. You will now see that a trend line called Trend1 for 'Series Blue' has been added to Series Blue.
    1. Trend1 for 'Series Blue' is a Linear function (by default) based on the data values of Series Blue.
  13. We will now edit this trend line and turn it into a moving averages line. Select Trend1 for 'Series Blue' and press the Edit button.
  14. The Edit box will pop up.
  15. From the Edit box, select the property TrendType and then press the Edit button.
  16. You will now have the following 5 functions and the moving averages, to choose from:
    1. Logarithmic function
    2. Exponential function
    3. Power function
    4. Moving Averages
    5. Linear function
    6. Polynomial function
  17. Select Moving Averages and press Apply.

  18. Trend1 for 'Series Blue' has now been changed from using the Linear function into the Moving Averages.
  19. Close the Edit box, by pressing the Close button.
